Home! Sorta…

After 6 full months on the road, we got back to Lubbock for a bit.

We were blessed by Jerry and Malinda Spruill to use their RV while we were there. They parked it for us at the Park and we stayed the whole time. They and Scott and Paige Spruill are our true family in every way, because they built us up and loved on us while we were there, making us feel at home. Thank y’all!

While in Lubbock, we had to come up with a way to make some food, gas and car parts money and we did so by doing odd jobs for people. We raked an ark-load of leaves! We also painted a number of rooms and fences. We love to help others and they appreciate the work being done.

The timing was perfect for our return to Lubbock, because all of the kids were due for tooth cleanings and dental work. We had 17 visits in the 3 1/2 months we were there! We kept them in business for that quarter. On top of the dental appointments, Asaiah had a wart removed from his toe and Nemo had a mass removed from the web of his left hand. I refrained from sharing the wart-removal pictures, but I did share some hereof Nemo’s hand after surgery.

Matt got the privilege to preach at Asbury Methodist Church in Lubbock, as Pastor Esther Moses asked him to. It was such a wonderful time with the congregation with AWESOME Mexican food after!

We were blessed with a few outings while in Lubbock. We went to a neat little concert at Redbud Baptist Church one Saturday night. For Christmas, Memaw (my mom) gave us the gift of a family outing. We were privileged to go to Adrenaline City and play. They have trampoline dodge-ball, laser tag, rock climbing and a ropes course. It was so much fun, minus the major back issues it caused Matt the next day, which resulted in 6 Chiropractic adjustments and a fairly permanent backache. Pray for him.

Our other outing we were blessed with was a concert. We were able to get complimentary tickets to Roadshow 18 with Matthew West, Social Club Misfits, Natalie Grant, Zack Williams, King and Country and Bethel Music. That was an AMAZING experience. We sat at floor level, as you can see there in the picture of the artist on the stage before the show.

By the time we were done with the last procedure (hand surgery) we were well beyond ready to hit the road. Being in Lubbock that long was harder on us than being on the road was. We were built for this Journey God has placed on us. This is why I use the term “home” very loosely, because, Home Is Where Your Heart Is, and our hearts are on the road on this Journey.
