OurJesusJourney’s Early Start

We have made a trip to the Houston area to visit our older son and his family, as well as to pick up some pressure washing equipment and to do some pressure washing work. It took us (literally) 24 hours to get here from Lubbock, which usually should only take about 9-10hours at the most. We had to replace the thermostat in our van in Post, Tx, 30mins away from Lubbock. Then we had to warranty our water pump in Snyder, Tx, another 30 mins away. In Huntsville, Tx, the van LITERALLY died on I45 while going about 65 mph. We pulled over, took things apart and tried to start the van up again. A couple stopped to check on us and offered ideas on what the problem might be. They suggested a specific part, then offered up a little money to help pay for it. The lady with them clearly loved Jesus, because she mentioned that she tries to tell everyone she meets that He is coming soon and that He is always good. We met others on the way Houston, always looking for an opportunity to evangelize.

Once in Houston, we still had problems with the van. It is running very inconsistently, leaving us stranded a couple of times, even forcing us to leave it behind in a business parking lot for a day and a half. Since then, we have broken down multiple times, not knowing if it will run again when we get in it to go or if it will stop running at each light or stop sign. We have determined that, in order to get back to Lubbock, we are going to have to find a way to get another vehicle here in Houston. We have a good prospect, one that is reasonable and in good shape, we just do not have the funds yet. We are seeking God’s provision in this, be it through work or through others. Pray for us as we try to get a reliable vehicle for our family on OurJesusJourney.
