As I am sure most of you remember, there was a school shooting in Aztec, NM in early December 2017. We were actually about 5 miles from that shooting. It occurred while we were loading up our trailer and truck to head out. It was such a sad and sickening sight to watch about 50 police drive 100mph to get there that morning. We pray for those in Aztec and our hearts were breaking with that community.

After leaving Aztec Baptist Church, we headed further South to Tohatchi Baptist. If you remember from before, we had been there twice before with our home church, Highland Baptist, as well as other churches from the Lubbock area. We tried and prayed very hard to be able to join familiar faces in Tohatchi, because we were a little road-worn.

Once in Aztec, we went right to work packing bags of necessities for those at the Senior Centers. Our family was blessed to be able to go to the Centers with Angela Redden from Sundown, TX and enjoy doing arts and crafts with the locals. They were so sweet and the kiddos loved them!

We also did work around the church property: painting, building wood sheds, and repairing a fence to keep the neighbor’s dogs out of the church yard. We enjoy our time in Tohatchi. It feels like our “Home Misson Field.”
