So…we did not leave Westminster on the 19th as planned. Unfortunately, the engine in our Suburban went out. As a family, though, God gave us an amazing peace over the situation. We knew, just like every time before, God would come through for us.

Pastor Roger, from First Southern Baptist Westminster, went to bat for us right away. He found us a mechanic, Jeff Engel, that he trusted who was willing to do the job, getting us a quote, which included a cut on the labor costs. The quote was for $3000, which is no small feat for us, but is nothing to our God. The Pastor also raised a large amount for us, along with our church, Highland Baptist and Calvary Baptist in Lubbock. We also received donations from Cyndy Hobson, the Rodriguezes (our daughter-in-law’s parents), a man named Larry, and a donor we don’t even know named David Divine. All of these individuals had a huge hand in the continuing if this Journey, and we thank God for you all!

We took the Suburban in on a Wednesday around noon, and by 1pm the next Friday we received a call from Mr. Engel saying it was ready to go! A two-day engine job is incredible! We were and are very impressed with the work he did. Thank you so much, Jeff Engel, for taking the time from your regular jobs to help us out!

Right at the tail end of us getting the Suburban repaired, we ran into a “snag” at the campground where we were staying. Due to the 4th of July, the campsites were only available to permit-holders, forcing us to find other accomodations. We were so blessed to be offered a place to stay with Nolan and Sheila Davis from FSBCW. They opened up their home to us and let us stay for 10 days, 6 of which they were on vacation in Hungary. The rest from camping was very welcome and we thank them for trusting us with their home.

We left Westminster on the 10th of July, but not with just us and our ONE dog, Stormie. Nope! That would be too “normal.” On July 9th, she had 8 puppies ( one did not make it). So we headed to Cheyenne, WY with 8 dogs in tow!

It is always exciting on this Journey! But we thank God for every day of it!
