We are in Westminster, Colorado, just outside of Denver. It is BEAUTIFUL! We are camping at Standley Lake. Our church here is First Southern Baptist Church Westminster, led by Pastor Roger Odegard. We met him and his wife, Shannon, and their daughter, Erin (GR8 name!) on Saturday night, June 10th. They are a wonderful, Jesus-loving family! We also met with the Senior Member’s Pastor, Chuck Carver, the night before. He is an awesome man! He was so kind and bought fishing poles and gear for the kids, as well as a jewelry-making kit for me. My son even told him, “You are like a Grandpa for us!”
Matt spoke at the church on Sunday, June 11th. It was awesome! The church is emphasizing their focus on reaching out to those around them, giving Christ to the Lost and Forgotten. The music special was the song, “Go Light Your World,” and it was perfectly beautiful. The church had also just returned from their own Mission Trip to Oklahoma, where they worked to encourage another church and it’s members, much like we are doing in our Journey. We are staying in Westminster until Monday, June 19th, because Pastor Roger want Matt to share more on Sunday, this time being his testimony. We are also canvasing the neighborhood, passing out flyers and inviting them to the church. We are looking forward to the rest of our time here serving the church.
